Ken Tothero
Ken Tothero is the coordinator of Special Projects for the Learning Technology Center.
Ken's background includes eleven years as a secondary level physics teacher followed by five years in Austin's dynamic educational multimedia industry. During that time he authored the Holt Physics Interactive Tutor, developed for Holt, Rinehart and Winston and winner of a NewMedia Magazine InVision Award as the best education product of the year.
Ken came to the LTC in 2001. His areas of interest lie in online learning environments, online collaboration, and one-to-one technology environments in K-12 and higher education.
David Kim
David Kim is the Vision Studio's programmer, providing expertise in .NET, PHP, Java/JSP/JSF, Flex/Flash and Actionscript as well as in other areas.
David holds a MSIS (Master of Science in Information Studies) degree and his areas of interest are in Information Retrieval and Information Architecture.
David also holds a Master's degree in Computational Linguistics and developed several Natural Language Processing applications. David joined the Vision Awards Program in 2005. Since then his work has included back-end programming, front-end design, and database engineering.
Shin-Hyun Ka
Shin-Hyun Ka is a graduate research assistant in the Vision Award Program, where he serves as the studio's web designer, providing expertise in CSS, Dreamweaver, ImageReady, Photoshop, and PHP.
Shin Hyun is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Educational Policy and Planning at the University of Texas-Austin. He received his MA in Educational Administration and has an undergraduate degree in Education. His professional areas of interest lie in organizational learning and knowledge management using informational technology. He joined the Vision Studio in 2005.
Daniel Veliz
Daniel Veliz is the Visual/Audio Specialist for the Vision Studio. He provides insight to video and multimedia applications and has expertise in Final Cut Pro, Flash, and Audio/Visual for producing/editing various projects within the program.
Daniel holds a BS (Bachelor of Science) degree from the Radio-Television-Department at the University of Texas at Austin. He joined the Vision Studio in 2007.
